Here we try and answer common Questions. This area is under development and will grow as time goes on.
What is AnimeAMAZE?
AnimeAMAZE previously known only as an Internet Radio Station. We are currently expanding into new areas such as video streaming with more of a focus on interacting with the community in more ways than just the radio station. Our community is a safe place for fans of anything.
How do you Listen to AnimeAMAZE?
You can tune in using any media player that is capable of streaming Internet Radio. We offer various streams to accommodate for different types of Internet speeds. We offer a stream running at 192Kbps MP3, and we have a 64Kbps AAC+ stream which is suited for mobile phones or mobile internet. These two formats provide quality and a stable listening experience.
How do I request a song?
Follow the link to the request page. You will be brought to a new tab or window. You can click Song Requests and search for the songs name or the artist. For songs try some different variations on your search (e.g. Romaji, English translated) and for Artist we have it as Given name Family Name (e.g. Megumi Hayashibara).
Once you find the song in the results you will see either a Green Plus sign, or a Red X in the “Req” column. Green means you can request it, Red X means it cannot be played yet, so check back later. Please visit the request page for more in depth information.
When will my request play?
We tried our best to make it as fair and reasonable as possible for all requested songs to play immediately. Once the request is received the radio station will pick it up and either play it immediately after the current song, or after the next song. This is all based on the current time remaining on previous song and when the request is picked up. There may be some events that override the request. Rest assured your request will play within at most 3 songs but more likely 1 or 2.
Why do I get a security warning when turning into the radio stream?
Although this is a rare situation, the station is provided on protocol that does not support Secure Socket Layers in a correct manner. Icecast is only providing you a music stream. No personally identifiable information is being exchanged between your client (media player) and the server. Since Icecast has not correctly implemented SSL we feel using it does more harm than good. If you are concerned though about your privacy, AnimeAMAZE should play over a VPN connection. However, it has not been tested. Once we can assure that SSL works correctly we will add our certificates back into play, but until then, this is the safest way to provide the station. Our websites and other services do provide SSL, just not the streaming server.
What will happen if the stream goes down?
Listeners will be notified as well as members and partners. Unless this is a planned maintenance window our monitoring service should alert us. Keep in mind there may be some situations where restoring the station in a timely manner may result in extended outages, but we hope to reduce that and will continue finding and implementing as many safe guards as possible.
